The team dynamic offers a blend of seasoned professionals and ambitious new recruits. We continuously strive to implement new ways of thinking by embracing the latest techniques from the commercial sectors and academic fields. This ensures that CBE remains the outstanding leader within the EPoS retail sector.
Our Management Team
Gerard and his wife Catherine founded CBE in 1980. Gerard has spearheaded the company’s growth over three decades. He is a board member and former chairman of the Industry Research and Development Group, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to assisting members and shaping policy in this area. He is also a member of the Marketing Institute.
Dominic has vast experience in all aspects of Retail IT. With an Honors Degree in Commerce and a Post Grad in Systems Analysis he started with CBE in 1993 and worked in various project and management roles before joining the board as Systems Director in 1999. Having held the position of Managing Director for a number of years, Dominic was promoted to CEO in 2022.
Gearóid joined CBE in 2008 following his graduation from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology with an Honours Degree in Software Development, he graduated first in his Class. Having held the position of Group Director at CBE for a number of years, Gearóid was promoted to Managing Director in 2022.
Michael’s background is in Electronic Engineering. He joined CBE in 1989 and has over 20 years experience in retail applications. He is the Quality Management Representative at CBE.
Clive joined CBE in 2006 as a Systems Engineer deploying, supporting, and training customers on CBE’s technology. Having held the position of Business Development Manager UK for a number of years, Clive was promoted to Director UK in 2023.
Kathleen joined CBE in 1986 and oversees the administration of the company while also being part of the team responsible for the management and further development of CBE’s rapidly growing global market.
Sean has spent most of his career to date at CBE where he has gained functional experience throughout the business. He has guided the company through various stages of growth, including expansion into new markets.
Seamus controls the finance function at CBE. He is also an executive director centrally involved in shaping the business strategy.
Cathal started his CBE career in sales and marketing, having joined the company in 1983. He manages inbound and outbound logistics for the complete range of products through the central warehouse.
Inventory Control Director
James’s background is in Commerce and Computer Science. He joined CBE in 1997 and has led new product development for over ten years.
John joined CBE in 1986 and has extensive technical knowledge and sales experience in retail systems and software. He served as National Sales Manager before being promoted to Sales Director in 1998.
Shane joined CBE in 1999 and has worked in many roles within the Support department of the company. With a wealth of knowledge on managing and leading teams, Shane was promoted to Systems Director in 2016.
T J joined CBE in 1996 and has a background in Computer Science. TJ started in Customer Support Division and also worked in the Installation Unit. He became Customer Support Manager in 1999 and joined the board in 2006.

Oliver joined CBE in 1997 and has since become one of the leading retail IT consultants in the UK & Ireland. Oliver is a strategic member of CBE’s management team and is integral to their continued growth in Ireland and the UK and is also heavily involved in CBE’s expansion into the American market.
