Michael Cattigan, CBE Service Director, will participate in the Alan Kerins Project 2013 GAA Challenge in Croke Park on 14th February.

The Alan Kerins Projects (http://alankerinsprojects.org) is a registered charity working since 2005 in Zambia and other African countries to:

• Provide appropriate infrastructure to assist poor communities towards sustainable development
• Support young people through education, sport, recreation and creativity
• Heighten awareness of the reality and challenges faced by poor people in developing countries
• Support the most vulnerable communities

The Alan Kerins Project 2013 GAA Challenge promises to be a fun event with Kerry playing Kildare in a 70 minute challenge match in Croke Park. With the aim of raising €100,000 for the whole event, Michael Cattigan has decided to pit his footballing skills against some well-known celebrities and sporting legends such as Pat Spillane, Ray Houghton, Ciaran Whelan, Larry Thompkins, Ronnie Whelan, Niall Quinn, Nicky English, Alan Quinlan, Michael Lester, Tony Ward, Marty Morrissey and many more.

Since its inception, over €1.5 million has been raised on behalf of the Alan Kerins Projects with the monies being invested in a variety of essential projects and services in Zambia, Ethopia, Uganda and Haiti.

Michael has set himself a target of raising €1,800 and everyone at CBE is delighted to support him for this very worthy cause.
