Galway defeated rivals Mayo in Sunday’s Connacht senior ladies football final at McHale Park in Castlebar.
Galway came from ten points down to stun Mayo and lift the CBE cup for the first time since 2010. Mayo lead by 10 points with thirteen minutes remaining but the tribesgirls staged a remarkable turnaround to break Mayo hearts and win by two points in the end.
