Case Study - Sweeney Oil

Background

Sweeney Oil is one of the largest and most successful forecourt retailers in Ireland, operating multiple forecourt sites across the country under the Spar Express brand.

Client Requirements

Sweeney Oil management approached CBE to develop a bespoke solution using cutting edge retail technology to assist in managing their business at local and head office level. The required solution needed to be easy to use and encompass the functionality of their existing systems which varied by site. The new system should also provide many added features as part of an integrated system for their growing business.

The company sought a system that would address key objectives, including:

  • To enable greater overall head office control in managing price, promotions, margin and inventory levels of wet and dry stock, across multiple sites with adjustable levels of autonomous control devolved to local managers.
  • To provide performance measurement leading to more effective analysis and evaluation on individual and comparative sites based on key performance indicators.
  • To assist management to be more proactive in managing the business across the store network.
  • To ensure visibility by head office management of local changes within the system in a timely manner in a real time environment.
